Jim Kerr - Executive Director
I was born in Daytona Beach, Florida and was immediately put up for adoption. After living in 7 different foster homes in my early years, God brought me to William and Nancy Kerr who not only adopted me, but introduced me to my Heavenly Father at age 7. God used my parents, church and local Christian School to minister to my heart, and I wanted to be used by God in the lives of others in similar ways. Upon obtaining my Bachelor of Science degree in History/Secondary Education, I began a 25 year career in education. During that time I also obtained my Masters of Arts in American Legal History.
In 1990 God blessed me with a wonderful and supportive wife, Terri, and we have three wonderful children. Our eldest, Jamie, has married Emily in 2014 and he is working on his undergraduate degrees. Emily obtained her art degree in 2015. Shannon enjoys her cat (Daisy), fashion, playing volleyball and being with her friends. Patrick enjoys his cat (Tiger), building things, and playing basketball and computer games with his friends.
As I have long had a passionate desire to be used by God to encourage others, I know that God will still use this even as I change careers from education to the ministry of the PRC. I am looking forward to seeing how God uses me at the PRC and how He uses this ministry in my life.
Dr. Marlana Li, MD - Medical Director (Volunteer)
I am a board-certified Family Medicine physician who graduated with a B.A. from the University of Utah, received my medical degree (with a Honors in Bioethics) from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, and completed my residency at St. Anthony North Family Medicine Residency in Westminster, Colorado. I practice full-spectrum Family Medicine, delivering pediatric, maternity, and adult care, and I have special interests in preventive medicine and education.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, going on medical mission trips, hiking, and journaling.
I was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod), and I am grateful for the faith the Holy Spirit inspired and nurtured in me. I believe Jesus is Lord, Redeemer, Mighty Counselor and the Divine Physician, and it is my duty and joy to honor, trust and obey Him as I seek to use all He has gifted me to serve Him and my neighbor.
I am delighted to serve as the Pregnancy Resource Center Medical Director, hoping to enhance the center’s ability to deliver the best possible care, while also “speaking the truth in love” to help clients make the healthiest decisions. As science proves, life begins at conception, and I believe every life is precious. I want to advocate for those who have no voice, to empower women and men to choose life, to provide support or resources for our clients, and to help people who suffer from suffering, pain, confusion, and other ailments.
Dr. Fred Seale MD, OB/GYN - Doctor (Volunteer)
I am an Obstetrician/Gynecologist with the Ogden Clinic and have been in practice in Utah for over 10 years. I attended Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and did my residency training at Wilford Hall Medical Center/Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, as an active duty Air Force Physician. I then spent three years practicing OB/Gyn on USAF active duty at Lakenheath Air Force Base in the UK, prior to separating from the Air Force and starting my practice in Utah. I am also active in Resident Education with the McKay-Dee Family Practice residency.
I am married, with three children, and enjoy cycling, performing music, hiking and reading in my spare time.
I am deeply committed to the practice of life-affirming, Christ-centered Medicine, and am very proud to have previously served as the PRC Medical Director and now continuing to assist with reading of ultrasound reports.
Sue Mirgon - Operations Manager
My name is Sue Mirgon and I am married to Dan, my best friend of 34 years. We have two grown children – Our daughter, Deborah, who lives in Salt Lake with her husband and two children, and our son Mark, who lives in Arizona. We moved to Salt Lake from Orange Country, California in 2010, at the urging of our daughter and son-in-law. Grandma and grandpa need to be close by after all and there is nothing better than being grandparents!
After moving to SLC, however, I found myself asking the Lord where He wanted me. With 20 years of office management experience in a non-profit setting, I was asking the Lord for work with purpose. It was an almost 3 year process that ultimately brought me to the PRC and I am humbled that God has allowed me the honor of working in this ministry. Life is precious at any stage and I am excited to see what God has in store for the ministry of the Pregnancy Resource Center.
Sara Jensen, RN, BSN, FCP - Nurse Manager
My name is Sara Jensen, and I was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I came to the US for college and have a BS degree in Psychology and Nursing.
I met my perfect spouse at church at age 40. We were married in Malaysia and I had our first child, Matthew, at age 41 and my daughter, Christina, at age 44. I have been blessed with a beautiful family.
After being a stay-at-home mom for five years, I decided it was time to venture out. I had a strong desire to volunteer at the PRC. I started volunteering as a nurse in the fall of 2103 and have loved it. By God’s grace, I am now the nurse manager and feel privileged to work with women in crisis on such an intimate level. I thank God for the opportunity to be His trusted servant in this life-affirming ministry.
Stephanie Cable, RN, BSN - Nurse (Volunteer)
I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, and later in life I moved to Provo to attend college and graduated with a BS in nursing. I then worked in a hospital setting for 18 years.
I have an amazing husband, Dale and we have 4 wonderful children. I enjoy running, weight lifting and camping.
Seven years ago, the Lord miraculously opened my eyes to who He really is, and I now have a personal relationship Him. God was quite persistent in urging me to volunteer as a nurse at the PRC so I started volunteering 3 years ago and accepted a part time position a year ago.
My personal life experiences have given me much empathy and compassion to serve these women. I’m grateful for this opportunity to serve in this life affirming ministry and letting others know of His great love and mercy. I absolutely love seeing how God works at the PRC!
Tammy Hawes, RN, BSN - Nurse (Volunteer)
I was born and raised in central Kansas where I also went to college and graduated with a Bachelors in Nursing. I then worked in Wichita at a hospital as an OB nurse then later in a clinic setting.
I met my husband the first day of college and we have been married 24 years. He has family here in Salt Lake City, and so we moved here to be close to them 16 years ago. We have three awesome teenagers one of which just moved to Kansas to go to college.
I was drawn to the PRC by hearing about it at church and through friends. It was an exciting opportunity for me to be able to use my medical skills to minister in my community. Volunteering here at the PRC has had its challenging moments but it is sweet to see how God works and is sovereign. Many times while performing the ultrasounds when I think a good picture is impossible God brings about the perfect one or shows an amazing heartbeat that is just what that mom/family needs to see. It is a great place to be able to work alongside awesome staff who are also passionate about what they do and about serving Christ.
Alicia Toscano - Client Services Manager & Peer Counselor
I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and have lived here most of my life minus a few years in Arizona and Colorado. I have worked within the medical administrative side my entire career until recently. I felt an unsettling and God calling me to do more.
By the time I was 18, I had 2 sons. I showed up at the doors of the Pregnancy Resource Center in 1995 to confirm my first pregnancy. I was terrified and uncertain of what to expect. I was met with love and acceptance that day and I never forgot how impactful that experience was from that visit.
I am now happily married, and my sons are 21 and 23 years old. I truly feel God does use each and every journey to bring beauty from it all. I am so thankful to be part of such a powerful, life changing center that for me, is very personal. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, camping and reading a good book.
Claire Moore - Receptionist & Peer Counselor
I was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH as the oldest of nine children. At the age of 14, Cakes by Claire, my cake decorating business, foreshadowed my future studies. I graduated from culinary school and have worked in sweet shops, coffee shops, managed cafes, catered, and taught cooking classes. Throughout the past 19 years I have participated in multiple forms of children's ministry all across the globe, as well as extensive work experience with child development.
I like to spend my extra time reading, cooking, traveling, and spending what time with my family.
My experience working with children has given me a passion for life and the unborn child. In addition, my brief stint working at a call center has uniquely equipped me for this job. Finally, my passion for Jesus Christ gives me a love for the women I interact with every day.
One of my favorite things about working at the PRC is meeting new people and working with the wonderful staff.
Mary Ann Espinosa - Bilingual Receptionist & Peer Counselor
I was born in Farmington New Mexico and moved to Utah at a very young age. Then after graduating from Medical Assisting College, I started working in the medical field for 39 years.
I married Robert (Lefty) and we have three daughters and five grandchildren. All of these family members live in Utah which is such a blessing. I was also very blessed to have my parents here in Utah as well.
I enjoy traveling, reading, spending time with my grandchildren and also going to theatrical plays. I enjoy meeting people and interacting with them. I am excited to see all the ways the PRC is reaching out to so many individuals and happy to be a part of the staff here.
I, along with my husband, committed my life to Christ several years ago at a Spiritual Renewal Conference that was being held in Salt Lake. The Lord has ministered to me and opened doors in ministry through the years to minister to the hurting, participating in Healing Rooms, Promise Keepers, and as a volunteer previously at the Pregnancy Resource Center. All of these wonderful opportunities in ministry have brought such a deeper desire to be used by Him in any way He reveals. I praise Him for his Love demonstrated to me in so many seasons of my life and in my walk with Him. I am Iooking forward to seeing what this season will bring at the Pregnancy Resource Center.
